Rosemary Johnson - Marriage Celebrant
As a romantic at heart, I love everything to do with weddings, but most of all I love the ceremony. It is a magical moment for me as a marriage celebrant when a couple, oblivious to their ‘audience’, declares their love for each other.
I have attended ceremonies where the vows are brief, comedic or quite poetic. The thing all of these ceremonies had in common was the obvious meaning behind the words, which were particularly relevant for each couple.
I believe that a ceremony is about ‘celebrating your love’. Whether your ceremony is in an intimate setting or in front of a large gathering, it is an open expression of your love for each other in a way that is personal to you.
Every couple’s love story is unique and being a celebrant allows me to conduct ceremonies that truly reflect each couple’s distinctive style. I like to work closely with couples, allowing them to express themselves in their own way, which enables us to produce a ceremony that is reflective of all the special qualities of their relationship.
My background in management and client service has provided me with skills that are very relevant to my role as a celebrant, with planning and organising being important attributes, along with an ability to listen to and understand my clients’ needs.
I take my responsibilities as an Authorised Marriage Celebrant. I am a member of the  The Equality Network and The Celebrant Society. I complete annual ongoing professional development activities and keep up to date with the requirements of the Attorney-General’s Department.
I acknowledge the traditional custodians of the lands on which I work live and work, and the importance of cultural heritage and connection to country.
